18ct White Gold Art Deco Ruby and Diamond Cocktail Ring
The design of this ring is typically of the fashion of the late 1920s and 1930s, when clean, straight line design influenced by the Bauhaus movement was prevalent. Strong contrasting colours were also often seen and exemplified by the work of Cartier at that time.
This striking and unusual Art Deco ring, features an early brilliant cut and baguette diamonds in collet, channel and grain settings within a centre asymmetric tapering design, flanked by partial split shoulders, channel set with calibre cut rubies.
The centre diamond is estimated at 0.60ct and judged as SI2 clarity and I colour. The four adjacent good quality baguette cut diamonds total approximately 0.20ct, and the similar grade smaller brilliant cut diamonds total approximately 0.08ct.
The head of the ring measures 14.22 x 19.7mm, and the unmarked shank tapers from the shoulders at 8.95mm to the middle of the shank at 6.35mm. A bold statement ring for lovers of the Art Deco style.
